FIIT Families, INC.

FULLY INTEGRATED TO INSPIRE TRANSFORMATION

OUR MISSION

Here at FIIT Families, our mission is to help underserved families transform mentally and physically.

ESTABLISHED JAN 18, 2021.

OUR OBJECTIVES.

FIIT Families, Incorporated will support obese candidates withmental health coping strategies and coaching, along with physical exercise and nutrition coaching. Over a twelve-month period, FIIT Families Incorporated will adopt families who deal with weight loss and physical health challenges, who needs assistance in that area of change. Through consistency and discipline, clients will learn how to not allow their physical health to negatively impact their mental health and vice versa.

Upon researching the necessity of services, the latest statistics provided by WHO, NAMI, and the CDC, confirms that the mission of FIIT Families is vital to assist with healthy lifestyle changes. For example, depression rates tripled and symptoms intensified within the first year of COVID. Prior to the pandemic, 8.5% of Americans reported feeling depressed or related symptoms. In 2020 that number was 27.8% and 32.8% in 2021. Low income populations were grossly affected disproportionately While the numbers of Americans living with obesity has increased due to sedentary lifestyles and the lack of physical activity, the numbers has significantly increased during the global pandemic. “In 2011, not a single state had reached the threshold of 35% obesity. Now, among the 16 at that level, a handful are close to 40%. The rates arehigher in the South and Midwest.”(CDC).

STATISTICS.

Desired Outcome.

FIIT Families came to an understanding just how devastating the pandemic was on our nation. Eating habits changed significantly and everyone was at home left to navigate how to comprehend our new normals. Some of those changes included moving forward after lives were lost, coming to terms with new feelings, anxiousness of developing the virus or financial worries. We desire to assist the families in discovering healthy ways to address these thoughts and emotions in order to achieve whole-centered wellness. Changing the mindset of the parents/guardians, will create healthier children for the next generation. FIIT Families will provide funding of services for families who cannot afford mental, nutrition, and fitness coaching. We aim to provide data that supports our theory, “Helping families heal, mentally...changes the way they look and feel physically.”

How can I become FIIT?

FIIT Families can be nominated by recommendations from their primary care physicians/pediatricians. Families can also be selected during the open enrollment period by completing a write-up on why their family should become a part of the program. Once chosen, candidates will be interviewed by both mental and physical health coaches as the last step to becoming FIIT.
